2014 Survey on Ancillary Services Procurement...
The survey provides support for the future implementation of the Network Code on Electricity Balancing (NC EB) and highlights the challenges facing the pan-European harmonisation of electricity balancing market design. The survey information is used to monitor the implementation of the NC EB and to report on the development towards a European balancing market. The survey includes maps illustrating how different approaches have been taken to the design elements of Ancillary Services and Imbalance Charges across Europe
The members who responded to the 2014 survey are as follows: Austria, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland & NI, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom. •Data collection is a relatively high-level exercise; therefore not all details are captured. •Different countries use different concepts. Hence the development of a single set of definitions encounters difficulty in matching the various concepts. Consequently, in a number of specific cases, the position of a country in a certain group might be debatable. •The survey builds on information updated in November 2013 and describes the mechanisms in place in 2013, so does not take into account any updates which might have occurred afterwards.
