RTE is the French Transmission System Operator (TSO) in charge of the operation, maintenance and development of the high and very high voltage grid (100,000 km from 63 to 400 kV). It also manages the interconnection lines with other European countries. It is a company with a workforce of around 8500 people and is the largest TSO in Europe.

Main contributions to the project:
RTE will coordinate the entire project and manage the work package 8 R&D work. RTE will also contribute as a research partner to work package 1, work package 2, work package 3, work package 4, work package 5 and work package 6.
