REN - Rede Eléctrica Nacional, S.A., the Portuguese member of ENTSO-E, is part of REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais, SGPS, S.A. the mission of which is to guarantee the uninterrupted supply of electricity and natural gas at the lowest cost, meeting quality and safety criteria, maintaining the balance between supply and demand in real time, defending the legitimate interests of market agents and reconciling its missions as a system operator and network operator. REN-Rede Eléctrica Nacional, S.A. is the concession holder of the National Electricity Transmission Grid (RNT) for 50 years, from 2007, comprising planning, construction, operation and maintenance of the National Electricity Transmission Grid (RNT), global technical management of the National Electricity System (SEN); settlement of energy market imbalances.

REN will coordinate and implement work package 4, and will be a key player in work package 2.
